Update on the event (May 2, 2017)
Alkemy Lab took part in the Smart Girls, Smart City Hackathon on April 28, at the Talent Garden Calabiana in Milan. The "pink" digital competition has seen girls and young women challenge themselves and realize original projects, to turn into reality their innovative ideas about smart cities. Alkemy Lab participated in the female #lenovohackathon with its mentoring activity, supporting and advising the participants in the competition.
Goingirls team has won the first prize. It has created an app for female citizenship trails that allows women to meet and walk in the streets of the city safely and with tranquility. In the second position, 4Prof group, with its project of brokerage between school and technology; while PinkInMilano has won the third prize, with its idea of a female social community for Milan area.
The research carried out by Alkemy Lab on the social conversations about #lenovohackathon is largely tied to hackathon winners - #goingirls, # 4prof and PinkInMilano - and #steminthecity. The award ceremony of the hackathon winner projects, in fact, took place on the occasion of the #steminthecity final event: this is the digital education project of the municipality of Milan that, in a series of events, wants to bring young people - and especially girls - closer to the digital culture and to the study of technical and scientific subjects.
The post about #steaminthecity collected from 19 April until 2 May are over 2600. There are many influencers who discussed about it (as shown in the chart below): from public administrations and representatives of the institutions, to technology companies and newspapers. In addition to the City of Milan and Beppe Sala, also Cisco Italia and Lenovo discussed about the project.
