Alkemy Lab one of the protagonists of the #ArtArtusi hackathon

Alkemy Lab is a technological partner of the hackathon dedicated to Pellegrino Artusi

Update from the event (20 February 2017):

Alkemy Lab took part in hackathon #ArtArtusi in Forlì on 18 and 19 February. Ideas, energy and innovative projects accompanied the 36 hours of the challenge, where young talents have committed themselves to digitize and communicate the Italian cuisine through applications, web platforms, e-learning courses, games in virtual reality and robotics prototypes.

To win the grand prize (sponsored by DeLonghi and Kenwood) was the project "Artusi Learning", which designed a platform that allows buy online cooking courses, and receive special "box" containing all the quality products required to realize the recipe.

The second prize (sponsored by Romagna Terra del Buon Vivere and Joule 4.0) has been won by the mobile application "Pappartusi", able to suggest the best recipes on the basis of features and user's eating habits. The chatbot "Arty", a personalized guide to the best Artusi products and the recipes, awarded the third prize offered by the O2e. Awarded also the youngest participant Edoardo Savini that, thanks to the software house Fingerlinks, got a Samsung S6 and a Gear VR to continue to develop and promote innovation.

The jury, which awarded the prizes was composed by Simona Caselli (Assessore for Agriculture, Hunting and Fishing of the Regione Emilia-Romagna), Marco Cavallaro (Kenwood), Giordano Conti (President of Casa Artusi), Monica Fantini (Vice-president Fondazione Cassa dei Risparmi di Forlì and coordinator of Romagna Terra del Buon Vivere) Alessandro Imparato (Joule 4.0), Gianluca Orazi (head of marketing and advertising for Zanichelli Editore), Enrico Sangiorgi (Prorettore Didattica Università di Bologna), Valentina Solfrini (blogger Hortus Natural Cooking), Alessandra Spada (responsible for R & D and CTO of Alkemy and Catchy co-founder) e Massimo Temporelli (president of The FabLab).

Anticipations on the event (16 February 2017):

The Alkemy Lab’s team, technology partner of #ArtArtusi hackathon, will participate in the digital race that take place in Forlì pursuing with mentoring activities and participating in the jury's work. The hackathon is dedicated to the figure of Pellegrino Artusi, the father of the modern italian cuisine, that with its manual "La Scienza in Cucina" has for the first time released the recipes of the local cuisine in Italy and in the world. Saturday 18 and Sunday, February 19, user experience designer and experts in software development, marketing, communications and product design, will be challenged to find new ways to communicate and export the Italian cuisine. The hackathon, created by Casa Artusi, Fondazione Cassa dei Risparmi di Forlì, the project Terra del Buon Vivere and Catchy, sees the sponsorship of the Regione Emilia-Romagna and of the Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale.

During the 36 hours non-stop of coding, the participants will be divided into teams and will develop innovative ideas and projects from images, texts and recipes of the Artusi world. To give support there will be The FabLab, the digital manufacturing laboratory specialized in the 3D printing. The Alkemy Lab team composed by Carla de Mare, Sara Monni, Andrea Montaldo, Marco and Nicola Piras Piras will support and advise the participants in the realization of their projects. The mentoring activities will take place for all the duration of the event and may accompany the members in different activities: from the architecture and design developing to the planning of the communication strategy and of the design.

The winning team will achieve the following prizes:

  • 6.000 € for the first place
  • 3.000 € for the second place
  • 2,000 euro for the third place

To accompany Alkemy Lab as technological partner of the #ArtArtusi hackathon will be: the startup the O2e, specialized in design and open innovation; Joule, innovative company that deals with smart metering and consumption management, and Fingerlinks, software house expert in the development and training on IoT and mobile platforms.
