Tools, methodologies and best development practices: TSC at Mageday 2014

The Mageday is the first Italian technical event dedicated to the e-commerce platform Magento.

Magento is the leading e-commerce platform in the world, a feature-rich Open Source software that offers full flexibility and total control on tht user experience, on the contents and on the offered features. Designed to be completely scalable, Magento is the e-commerce solution par excellence. The "success stories" are numerous and very different in typology and in sold goods. The numbers are significant: one store out of four on the Internet is based on Magento, the number of extensions reaches 5,000 units and the transaction volume exceeds 25 Billions dollars a year.

In Italy, the Mageday event is the reference point to stay updated on instruments, methodologies and best development practices; it is dedicated to technical staff and developers with at least one year of continuous experience in Magento and who have gained a basic knowledge of the framework. Even the last year, the event earned a great success, providing input and information useful for both the development and the management of the online shop. The program of Mageday 2014 will include numerous speeches and seminars on topics, such as the integration of Magento in enterprise architecture or the use of Magento in the Cloud, as well as an "outlook" on the development of the front end on Magento 2, the new version of Magento currently under development. The convention of 2014 will include a workshop, during which a source code will be drown up. The formative event will be held on Thursday, November 6, the day before the meeting, and will be dedicated to the development of a backend module for the management of a custom entity. The module to develop will be selected according to the preferences expressed by the potential participants. On this occasion, there will be the thorough examination of many aspects of the platform.

TSC Consulting will attend Mageday 2014 through Antonio Carboni, Magento certified frontend developer, maintainer of the Magento official translation, moderator of the Magento official forum and author of the book “Magento: Design Guide”. Carboni will partecipate to the speech “Magento 2: New approach to the Frontend”, which aims to make known the organizational structure of the new frontend of Magento 2 that, although it is still under development, already shows its organizational and managerial logic. The workshop aims to highlight the differences in approach and development compared to the previous platform.
